On May 6, 2010, Alexia Voulgaridou – under the baton of Lorin Maazel – opens the new Opera House in Guangzhou, China. Guangzhou Opera House presents the successful Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía’s production of Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot directed by Kaige Chen. Ms. Voulgaridou sings the role of Liu.
After four years of construction, the Guangzhou Opera House designed by British architect Zaha Hadid is now finally completed. The structure was described as one of “the most difficult structure to build in the world”.
